DN045 - Using Shift Registers to Increase the Number of I/O Pins
Updated: Feb 24, 2005
Description
Inevitably during the design of a microprocessor based device a larger than desired
microprocessor is chosen because of the high number of I/O lines required. In this
design note we shall look at Shift Registers as a mean of increasing the number of I/O
lines.
NB! This design note is part of the 2nd design note competition at AVRfreaks.net. Until friday march 14. you can rate your opinion of this and other design notes participating in the competition, by clicking the link to the right above. 3 winners will be drawn. |
